DEP's Easy as One, A Bag's Life, Lee County Sheriff's Office Host Free Collection Events in Fort Myers


The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Easy As One initiative together with A Bag’s Life campaign and the Lee County Sheriff’s office will host a free plastic bag, cell phone and drug take back collection event at multiple locations throughout Lee County February 8 – 12, 2011.
DEP will collect retail plastic bags for recycling and cell phones (working and non-working) and stray chargers to be donated to charity. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office will collect unwanted medications for proper destruction. Unwanted medication collection is anonymous and both prescription and over-the-counter medications are accepted.

Participants who bring in 20 or more plastic bags or product bags/wraps
(like the bread bags, vegetable bags or wraps around soda, paper towels, diapers and other products), a cell phone, a charger or medicine will receive a day pass to any Florida State Park. Limit one per person, while supplies last.
