Campaign Aims to Make Recycling Easy

Florida's environmental leaders are encouraging citizens to find simple ways to reduce, reuse and recycle.

And a new campaign draws a bulls eye on all those plastic bags we get at the store.

Children stuffed handful after handful of plastic bags into a recycling ship beached at the Florida capitol. They're hoping kids can help get their parents on board to start recycling all those plastic bags they get at the store.

“We don’t recycle them. We keep them and reuse them for different activities and we almost never throw them away," said Brendan O'Healaigh who was at the capitol with Swift Creek Middle School's Green Club. 

“Most people don’t take the time to recycle them. They think, ok, it’s just one bag, but they don’t realize that these bags end up being everywhere,” fellow Green Club member Emma Kearley said.
